The following rules and guidelines are in place for the safety and welfare of both our guests and the animals. Please obey all rules, guidelines, and posted signs throughout Zoo. Zoo staff may remove anyone who violates the rules and guidelines. We reserve the right to inspect any item brought onto Zoo property. Thanks for following these rules and guidelines to help keep the Zoo a safe & pleasant experience for all.
Be Kind
- No teasing animals, throwing objects into habitats, or tapping on glass
- Be respectful of other guests
Supervision is Required
- Children must be attended at all times
- For field trips and other large groups, we recommend a chaperone-to-student ratio of 1 or more adults per every 10 students
Stay on Paths
- No climbing or crossing fences; barriers exist for your safety and that of the animals
- No climbing on rock walls, ledges, or landscaping
- No picking vegetation
No Smoking or Vaping
- Please no smoking or vaping anywhere within the Zoo, Canopy Tour, or Adventure Park
Animal Meals are Carefully Monitored
- Animals cannot eat foods from “outside the zoo”
- Feeding animals is only permitted at supervised feeding areas, like at the Giraffe Feeding Experience, where the zoo provides food to purchase
Prohibited Items
- No dogs or other pets permitted
- No balloons permitted
- No, drones, radios, or music devices
- No skateboards, bikes, hoverboards or other similar items
- No firearms or weapons

Service Animals
- Companion and emotional support animals and therapy animals are not considered service animals under the ADA. For the safety of the Zoo animals, they are not allowed on Zoo grounds.
- Zoo Staff will meet every individual with a service animal and provide you with procedures and policy for your visit. Service animals must be leashed and are not allowed in areas where they might have direct contact (nose to nose through a fence, for example) with a zoo animal or exhibit.
- A service animal that displays signs of aggression or predatory behavior towards Zoo animals, visitors, or staff will be asked to leave the premises.
- A service animal that presents any clinical symptoms of disease, including but not limited to coughing, ocular or nasal discharge, vomiting, or diarrhea, will be restricted from the premises.
Your admission to the Zoo, the Canopy Tour, and/or the Adventure Park serves as permission for use of your image for promotional or educational purposes by the Zoo, its partners, and constituents. Commercial photography and filming is prohibited without the express, advance consent of the Zoo.
