The NEW Zoo & Adventure Park could not accomplish all that we do without the dedicated support of volunteers. Zoo volunteers enhance guest experiences, assist in zoo operations and events, and help further the zoo’s mission of connecting people with wildlife and nature. Every volunteer’s unique skills, talents, and interests are matched to available opportunities.
Whether you’re looking to be a dedicated member of our Zoo Ambassador programs, fulfilling a one-time project for your company, or you’re a high school teen looking to gain hours and experience, we offer something for everyone!
We welcome volunteers as young as 8 years of age and offer opportunities for individuals and groups alike with options for recurring or singular volunteer experiences.

*Please Note*
Although you are surrounded by animals while volunteering at the zoo, we do not offer volunteer roles related to animal husbandry and care. the majoriTY OF our volunteers do not work directly with zoo animals, for safety and other reasons. individuals who are more interested in working directly with animals should consider an internship instead.
Opportunities Abound
We offer a variety of volunteer experiences here at the NEW Zoo & Adventure Park for adults and children alike, as well as for both individuals and groups of all sizes. Our one-time volunteer opportunities are great for those looking to try out volunteering or for those looking to earn a certain number of community service hours! No minimums and little to no training is required to get started. Opportunities also exist for group team building and corporate projects. Our regular volunteer program provides opportunities for adults, teens, and families looking to get involved on a more regular basis. Click any of the icons below to learn more.

Commitment to Volunteers
Our Volunteer Coordinators are members of the Wisconsin Volunteer Coordinator’s Association (WVCA), a statewide professional organization that advocates for coordinators of volunteer services through support, resources, and educational development. We are also members of the Bay Area Managers of Volunteer Services (BAMVS), which is the WVCA’s local affiliate here in Northeastern Wisconsin. BAMVS serves as a positive force in the promotion of volunteerism, providing support and information to those involved in the volunteer network. This means our Volunteer Coordinators are up to date on industry standards and best practices, participating regularly in continuing education regarding volunteerism across Wisconsin and the United States. The NEW Zoo & Adventure Park is committed to providing truly quality experiences for volunteers who serve our organization. We appreciate your interest and support!
